Q. What does the SpringAir do?
A. It purifies the air in your home or office by breaking down pollutants.
Q. How does the SpringAir purify air?
A. The SpringAir reproduces the same effective cleansing agents that nature uses to purify the air.
Q. How does the SpringAir work?
A. The SpringAir uses electricity to split oxygen
O2 molecules into single Oxygen atoms which attach loosely to other
O2 molecules to become
O3 (activated oxygen). This loosely attached oxygen atom is unstable and seeks out chemical compounds and other pollutants and oxidizes them on contact.
Q. How does nature produce ozone?
A. Ozone is created electrically during active thunderstorms. The electrical discharge creates a sweet smell that we all know as fresh air. Ozone is also created by nitrogen oxides and ultraviolet rays from the sun.
Q. Does the SpringAir produce ions?
A. Yes.
The SpringAir uses a Needlepoint Negative
Ion Generator.
Q. What do these
negative ions do?
A.
Most of the particles found in our indoor
air carry a positive charge. By producing
large quantities of negative ions, the
SpringAir causes those particles to clump
together and fall out of the air.
Q. Are negative
ions harmful?
A.
There are no known harmful effects from
ionization. Negative ions are found in large
quantities around waterfalls, ocean waves
and in thunderstorms, all of which are
soothing.
Q. How do I know the machine is working?
A. Ozone has a very distinctive smell. So the best indication is your nose. You should notice a very fresh clean smell in your home or office.
Q. Is ozone safe?
A. Yes, but as with anything, moderation is the key. Ozone in very high concentrations can be irritating to mucous membranes and the respiratory system. The SpringAir produces safe and moderate amounts of ozone, but we recommend you set the square feet dial properly. The
three different models equate approximately to the size of space to be purified. Before using the SpringAir you should read the enclosed instructions enclosed with each unit carefully.
Q. What is a ozone alert?
A. Ozone is used as a indicator of pollution. Ozone alerts in cities are a result of high pollution levels of hydrocarbons, produced by the burning of fossil fuels. When ultraviolet rays from the sun strike the hydrocarbons,
O3 is one of the byproducts. Ozone is more easily detected and is used as a reference point for the level of pollution.
Q. How does it compare to air filters?
A. SpringAir does not rely on the air to actually pass through the machine to be cleaned like conventional air filters. It's not a filter at all. The SpringAir produces activated oxygen which fills the room and intercepts the
contaminants.
Q. Where should I place the SpringAir in my home or office?
A. The SpringAir should be placed in the room where you have the most pollutants. The SpringAir is easy to move so you might want to try it in a couple of locations to help decide what works best for your environment. Some customers prefer to have more than one unit to better control levels of activated oxygen in the home.
For best results, place the unit up high in
a central location.
Q. Is it difficult to install?
A. No. Just
place the plate in the slot in the back of
the unit, plug it in and set the dial for the area you will be treating. Install the SpringAir in any room, but try to find a place where it can be up off the ground four feet or more.
Q.
What type of maintenance is required?
A.
Maintenance of your new SpringAir is simple
and requires little effort. For cleaning the
ozone plate, simply turn the unit off and
unplug it. From the back of the unit, firmly
grasp and pull the plate out. Support plate
in hand or on a firm surface. Using a scrub
brush and either a grease cutting detergent
or ammonia, scrub metal wires on plate until
clean. Rinse in warm water and dry
completely. Reinstall plate in direction of
arrows. Its That simple.
Q.
How often do the plates need cleaning?
A.
Only when you no longer can smell the
ozone.
Q. How long will the SpringAir last?
A. The SpringAir is made of stainless steel and solid wood construction. Because of the quality material and superior craftsmanship that goes into each and every
SpringAir, you will be able to enjoy your
unit for many years.
