Air filters will trap small particles, but are only a partial solution. Virtually all chemical fumes and gases pass right through even the best HEPA filters. Mold, mildew, dust and bacteria can build up and eventually clog the filter element. These same allergens and irritants may then be reintroduced to the air we breathe.
